Current Issues in Accounting and Public Policy

In accordance with the journal Aims and Scope statement, we encourage the submission of manuscripts at “… the interface of accounting with economics, political science, sociology, or law.”

This intersection of research fields is particularly relevant in our times characterized by rapid technological change, pressing environmental and societal challenges, pandemics and wars. Both Accounting and Public Policy need to evolve to be able to help in dealing with these and with any other contemporary issue. The last few editions of the JAPP annual conference have been characterized by a lively discussion of papers addressing some of these contemporary challenges. We expect the 2025 edition to continue with this tradition.

As it is customary for the journal, we are open to any methodological approach and to both theoretical and empirical work or a combination of the two. Papers adopting an historical perspective are welcome.
